Smoked chicken nachos

Fire roasted salsa

Located high above Barton Hills is this tucked away place called Red’s Porch. It overlooks Barton Creek and Barton Hills where you can find hikers and mountain bikers enjoying the roughed rocky trails. When the water is high it’s not advisable to try and cross Barton Creek because of the sharp rocks in its banks. So why not enjoy the views from a shaded patio where it is safe and cool. No need to wear hiking boots or get all sweaty. If you do decide to go for a hike, it’s not very far from the hills to come here after and relax a bit.

You have the option to sit on the top porch, bottom porch or on one of the outside patios. The best view I would say is on the top porch towards the back overlooking Barton Hills. No matter what time you get there you will mostly likely get to enjoy their happy hour specials since it runs from 11am to 7pm, one of the longest in Atx. The drink specials may bring you here but the food will keep you here.

If you show up on Monday you can enjoy their drinks specials as well as their smoked chicken nachos for $5. It’s a large plate of toasted chips topped with refried beans, chicken and cheese. Served with sour cream and jalapeños. Here’s a tip ask for a side of their homemade fire roasted salsa to go with the nachos. It’s thick and flavorful without adding too much heat.

During happy hour you can enjoy a special tap pint for $3, which changes weekly but runs daily to keep us coming back. They also have other great drink specials like frozen ritas and local liquors. If you’re not a big fan of smoked chicken nachos you can enjoy appetizer specials from 4-7 M-F. Sundays they have a brunch buffet as well as a brunch menu.
